"Europe's Leading Airline" and "Europe's Leading Airline Business Class"
TAP has been nominated for the 2011 World Travel Awards. These awards were created in order to recognise, reward and celebrate excellence in all sectors of the global travel and tourism industry and are today the most prestigious in the industry.
The Portuguese airline has been nominated in the categories "Europe's Leading Airline" and "Europe's Leading Airline Business Class".
In the last two Grand Final Gala award ceremonies of the World Travel Awards which were held in London, TAP was the winner in the category "World’s Leading Airline to South America”, two awards which reaffirm the leadership position of TAP in this continent, specifically in Brazil, and which are a recognition of all the work and continuing efforts over two years by the airline in that market.
The World Travel Award winners are elected through an online voting process by the general public and by travel and tourism professionals, mostly travel agents from across the world.
