TAP and ETIHAD announce codeshare agreement

TAP Portugal and Etihad Airways, the United Arab Emirates airline, have signed a new codeshare agreement, which will come into effect on 15 October.

Under the agreement, for the first time TAP will be offering its customers easy, convenient connections from Portugal to Abu Dhabi in the UAE. Etihad will also be providing its customers with new flight options to Lisbon, Porto, Faro and Funchal in Portugal.

This cooperation will allow TAP to offer flights to Abu Dhabi and place its code on Etihad flights to and from Brussels, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, Geneva, London Heathrow and Milan Malpensa. In turn Etihad will also place its EY code on TAP services from Lisbon to Brussels, Dusseldorf, Faro, Frankfurt, Funchal, Geneva, London, Milan and Porto and TAP flights from Porto to Brussels and Geneva.

This new agreement with Etihad will enable TAP to expand its presence to the United Arab Emirates for the first time and to offer faster, easier connections between Portugal and the Gulf region. It will also open up transport in its own network to new passenger flows based on the functions offered by its hub in Lisbon”, said Fernando Pinto, Executive Chairman of TAP.
