1st Annual Victoria Golf Tournament 2008

The 1st Annual Victoria Golf Tournament took place on Saturday, 18 October at Penha Longa golf course, classified among the 30 best golf courses in Europe.

This initiative came about after numerous frequent flyer requests expressed interest in the creation of a golf event by TAP and its partners.

Using experience of almost three decades in golf-related activities - through the well-known TAP Open Tournament - the 2008 Victoria Tournament more than reinforced TAP competitions of this kind and was the first initiative by the loyalty programme in this area.

More than 100 people participated in the tournament, which was played in teams of two Victoria Programme Members in the form of Fourball Betterball.

The strong commitment of the players confirms the continuity of this initiative from TAP, who would like to help Portugal become the golf destination of choice.

Beloura Travel & Golf agency, specialised in the golf market, was an important partner in the event organisation through their outstanding paper on the growth of this tourist activity at the national and international level. This brought practitioners of the form, many of them TAP customers, to Portugal and outside.

By the same token, the contribution of Victoria partners TAP Tours, Avis, Victoria Seguros and Pestana (Master Sponsors) and Porto Bay, Tivoli, Vila Galé and Pousadas de Portugal (Junior Sponsors) was determined in the success of the initiative. To all, our sincere thanks.
